The GGL provides an interdisciplinary, concisely structured graduate program for all life science disciplines at the Justus Liebig University, in the fields of Human and Dental Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Psychology, Biology, Chemistry, Nutrition and Agriculture. In the GGL, doctoral projects are embedded in topic-oriented research. Admission is international, and teaching is carried out in the English language. In association with the GGL the medical faculties offer a PhD-MD/PhD program.

[Wshop] Workshop: Working in Multicultural Teams (25GGN04)
Aims:
This course is about understanding cultural differences and building the skills needed to collaborate effectively in diverse teams. Participants will explore how communication styles, trust, time, and decision-making vary across cultures and how these differences influence teamwork. The training is highly interactive and includes role plays, games, and practical tools that participants can apply directly in their academic and professional environments.
Learning outcomes:
-By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
-Recognize key cultural dimensions that shape teamwork
-Apply interpersonal communication skills essential for multicultural collaboration
-Demonstrate patience, openness, and sensitivity to social cues in diverse contexts
-Use indirect language and relationship-building strategies to foster goodwill
-Develop approaches to prevent and resolve challenges in multicultural teams
Methodology:
Participants will actively engage with cultural models, practice socio-emotional skills, and reflect on real-life teamwork situations. Feedback and peer learning are an integral part of the workshop.
