Kommentar:

This course introduces the principles and methodologies of qualitative social research commonly applied in intercultural studies. It equips students with the theoretical foundations and practical skills needed to conduct qualitative social research while engaging with current topics in the field.

Students will learn how to generate research ideas, design their own studies as preparation for their Master’s thesis, and conduct high-quality literature reviews on given topics. Particular emphasis will be placed on applying qualitative research methods to critically analyze intercultural phenomena.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
• Understand key qualitative research approaches used in intercultural studies.
• Engage with contemporary theories and debates in intercultural research.
• Develop a well-structured research design for their own projects.
• Conduct comprehensive literature reviews on specific research topics.
• Apply qualitative research methods in practical settings.

Course Requirements:
• Oral Presentation: A 15-minute presentation on a selected topic.
• Attendance: Regular attendance and active participation in class discussions.
• Reading: Completion of assigned readings before each class session.
• Final Exam: Two assignments – a literature review and a research proposal.

This course is designed to build students’ capacity for independent research and critical thinking, preparing them for advanced academic work and professional analysis in intercultural contexts.
